From Mumbai boardrooms to Dallas doorsteps.

Sundeep Malickal

Who's Behind This

A pastor who used to build strategy decks for a living.

Sundeep Malickal's path ran from strategy consulting in Mumbai to a Th.M. at Dallas Theological Seminary — and it was on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas, watching thousands of international students from more than 100 countries pass by every day, that Revelation 7:9's picture of "every nation, tribe, and tongue" stopped being poetry and became a mission field at his doorstep.

Today he serves as staff with International Students Inc., leads a home-gathering church plant in Dallas — begun with airport pickups and shared meals for international students, now growing toward its own congregation — and trains churches and ministries across the country to see, and step into, the nations already living among them. Before seminary, he worked for Big Four strategy consulting firms, and he brings that same rigor to a very old calling.

Every training Sundeep leads is built from lived experience, not secondhand research. He spent his first 35 years in India — not visiting, but living, working, and worshiping there — before ever setting foot in the United States. That's the difference between studying a culture and belonging to one: the frameworks he teaches didn't come from a textbook or a conference; they came from three and a half decades of actually being South Asian, then bringing that firsthand fluency to bear on cross-cultural ministry in America.

He puts this into practice every week, not just on a stage — through the home-gathering church he leads in Dallas, with Wednesday Bible discussions, home groups, and a Sunday gathering for students who've come to faith. It's that ongoing, on-the-ground rhythm — not a curriculum written from a distance — that shapes every session he brings to a church or ministry.
